Y - Pseudo Youth... Human Cesspool CD (Sound Pollution) 7.- €
"If you have been a fan of Y in the past you will probably already be familiar with the material on this CD, which is a collection of their previously released vinyl output. It includes their 7", the "Ali Bomaye" LP, the split 7" with DISCRIPT and a couple of unreleased tracks as well. If you are among the ranks of the uninitiated (like I was) then get prepared to sit back and be thrashed and bashed and smashed. Y does to the human brain what a tornado does to a trailer park. Their crust/thrash is full throttled from start to finish, with barely a moment to catch your breathe between songs. The lyrics are almost as rage filled as the music with Y taking shots at everything from Nazis to cops to abusive husbands to tabloid newspapers. The only downside to the release is that it took me a couple of times through to come to grips with the vocals on the more recent material. They are buried in the mix and one-dimensional even by thrash standards, which undercuts some of the diversity in the songs, many of which have a very strong groove buried in the maelstrom of sound."

3 neue Tracks der Kölner, die durch ihre Livepräsesns und zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen der letzten Jahre ja doch jedem ein Begriff sind, oder ??? Sympathische, authentische Band, die was zu sagen hat und ich will jetzt eigentlich nichts von wegen "Emocore" schreiben, denn ist nicht alles "Emo" an Musik oder Texten, egal ob es schnell, langsam, melodisch, melancholisch, crustig, grindig oder was oder immer ist, wenn eine Band nicht irgendeinem Trend hinterherläuft und gerade dem Hype (einer) anderen Band(s) folgt ??? Also eigentlich gibt's für mich dann nur "Emo"=ehrliche, authentische Musik (egal welchen Stils) und Kommerz ... (bt) Drei neue Songs auf ner 7". "Wie immer". (b)

Die drei Songs von ihrer three way split cd mit ENVY und THIS MACHINE KILLS sind auf dieser einseitig bespielten 12". Bislang bester Sound, wobei ich mit dem Gesang teilweise immer noch zu kämpfen hab. Ich hab da ein paar graue. (b)

Nach zwei 7"es und zwei anderen cd’s jetzt ne neue Fulllength. Aufgenommen hat die Band im für Holländer Pflichtstudio: Bunt Studio (SEEIN RED, MANLIFTING BANNER, etc.) und das merkste gleich. Optimale Produktion für die Mucke. Musikalisch gibt’s schnellen US-beeinflußten Hc der alten Schule, der auf recht melodischen Gitarrenarrangements aufbaut. Fast die ganze Zeit wird auf‘s Gaspedal getreten. (b)

YDI - A Place in the Sun 7" (Reagan Era Hardcore) 3.- €
Einer von vielen Bootlegs aus dem Hause Reagan Era Hardcore. Die 7" iss irgendwann `83 rausgekommen, die Bands iss stark von BIG BOYS oder IRON CROSS (jedoch wesentlich besser als letztes) beeinflusst. Derb, thrashig und Old School as fuck. (b)

YOUTH ENRAGE - Heyoca MCD (625 Thrashcore) 3.- €
Ne mini cd mit nem 17 minütigen Livevideo der Band. Das iss ganz nett so. Die Songs sind hammerhart, noch ne spur härter als auf der letzten Lp. Irgendwie klingt das so crazy wie EXCLAIM, nur ham YE nen guten Sound. Verjazzste Strukturen, gemischt mit Powerviolence und Thrashelementen kickt das Ding gehörig. 10 Songs to boot. (b)
