Zwei Mal Mucke, die irgendwie zur Jahreszeit passt. Zwei mal melancholischer Emo, der mich musikalisch etwas an JONES VERY, ALLOY, Vic Bondi Stuff erinnert. Beide Bands unterscheiden sich bei undifferenziertem Hinhören nur unwesentlich. Mir gefällt‘s. Sieht auch gut aus die Picture Disc. (?)

Depressiver heavy Shit aus Schweden. Mit dreckigem und vor allem phatten Sound und derbem zweistimmigen Gesang. Klingt wie ne Mischung aus NEUROSIS und HIS HERO IS GONE. Find's geil. (b) Schwedische Band mit 7 Tracks, die ultrafies, düster und brutal rübe

ACRIMONIE / LA QUIETE - split 7" (Life Of Hate) 1.- €
Die Songs von ACRIMONIE auf ihrer split 10" mit CLOUDBURST ham schon gut gerockt, aber hier wird noch ne Spur mehr Härte und Zerstörung aufgefahren. Der Franzose wird ja hierzulande gern nicht mehr so ernst genommen, wenn er Hardcore Mucke macht wie Anfang/Mitte der 90ziger Jahre. ACRIMONIE sind Mischung aus URANUS, 90iger Jahre Bremen style Hardcore mit etwas HSB Metal. Sicke Vocals, cool arrangierte Songs, haut rein! LA QUIETE sind aus Italien und ausser WITH LOVE hab ich von dort in letzter Zeit nich viel gehört, was mich jetzt irgendwie halbwegs begeistern könnte - egal was für ein Style es ist. LA QUIETE fahren den Ami Screamo-Chaos gemixt mit Härte Zug - geht mir z.b. mit der Zeit weniger auf die Eier als beispielsweise ORCHID. Iss jetzt nix, was ich noch irgendwie mit Enthusiasmus hören kann, aber ich sag's wie immer - sehr gut gemacht, für das was es ist. (b)

ADAM DOVE - Aftershock LP (Hometown Caravan) 3.- €
Oha. Ich hab grad dieses Soloalbum von K.SCOTT RITCHER gehört und hab erwartet, dass ich bei dem von Adam Dove auch nur die erste Seite aushalte. Aber hier handelt es sich eher um ne ganze Band, d.h. klingt wie ein seichtes Popalbum mit verzerrten Gitarren, schönem Gesang, Drums, Bass und was weiss ich - im Gegensatz zu der spartanisch instrumentalisierten Lp von Ritcher. Also... Jo. Iss okay, nett. (b)

Iss aber noch ein bissel BOTCH, bissel KISS IT GOODBYE drin, bissel KNUT drin - oder sagen wir so, es werden die gleichen Elemente verwendet... (b)

ALLERGIC TO WHORES / SENILE CITIZENS - split 7" (Born to Die Records) 4.- €
Längst out of press hab ich noch ein paar von den goodies auftreiben können. ATW gehören seit ihrer ersten full length zu meinen Lieblingen. Die klingen wie ne MISCHUNG aus TALK IS POISON und MISFITS in gut. SC spielen mittempo Hardcore, der melodisch und catchy arrangiert, aber schmutzig um gesetzt wird. Auf ihrer Seite des Covers einmal mehr ein Skate board. (b)

Lalalalala. Melodischer poppiger Sound mit melodischem Gesang und persönlichen Texten. Für das, was es ist perfekt, trotzdem halte ich nur 2 ½ Lieder aus. (?)

AMDI PETERSENS ARME - Blod Ser Mere Virkeligt 7" (Kick 'n' Punch) 2.90 €
Die zweite 7" dieser geilen dänischen 80ties Hardcore Retroband. Perfekt. (b)

AMEN 81 - ...mit 3 Ps LP (Skuld Releases) 7.- €
Nun gut, als die drei Nürnberger noch auf DISRUPT steil gegangen sind fand ich sie was besser, aber das Teil hier iss immer noch bös dissig. Schönes, liebevoll gemachtes Booklet, gut eingespielt, vielleicht etwas zu sauber für meine Ohren, zu unbelassen, nicht rauh genug, aber süsse Jungs und doch ganz okay. Eher was für die Deutschpunker haha... ne, quatsch kann was. (b)

AN ALBATROSS - We Are Lazer Viking 12" (Ace Fu) 9.- €
"Now available on ltd ed color vinyl. Influenced by the likes of The Locust, Zappa, Devo, Lightning Bolt and Slayer, quel surprise then that the Douggernaut is immediately sporting wood over their spaz rockery. 11 songs."

ANGSTZUSTAND - Malen Nach Zahlen CD (Narshardaa Records) 6.- €
Nun gut - "Emo never dies" möchte man schon fast sagen. Klingt irgendwie wie die zeitgemässe Version von ZORN, mit etwas mitneunziger Kanada Flavour. Engagiert und so und alles, aber nicht mehr mei Dinger. Aber wer auf die erste konnte, der wird die hier auch umarmen und liebdrücken. Also - wenn das die Dinger sind. Go for it. (b)

ANGSTZUSTAND - Ohne dich sind wir allein LP (Bewildered Youth) 7.- €
Bei diesem Bandnamen dachte ich unweigerlich zuerst an eine stumpfe Deutschpunkcombo. Jedoch weitgefehlt! Als ich die Band zum ersten Mal auf dem Ox Sampler hörte, war es um mich geschehen. Da spielen die Jungs doch genau den Style der mich Mitte der Neunziger in den Bann gezogen hatte. Aggresiver Emotionaler Hardcore, wie er seiner Zeit direkt aus Bremen hätte kommen können. Jedoch bittet die Band nicht nur einen Aufguss von schon da gewesenen, sondern weiß ihren Acme beeinflussten Sound eigene Elemente zuzufügen der die ganze Sache sehr frisch darbietet. Scheiße, was war das eine geile Zeit mit geilen Bands, die noch wirkliche emotionale Musik spielten und nicht so einen weinerlichen Collegesound wie heute so oft gehört. Sehr schön sind auch die Texte der Band die ihre Wut und Verzweiflung bestens wiederspiegeln. Der Gesang kommt stellenweise melancholisch um dann sofort wieder in einem heißeren Geschreie zuenden. Sehr schön gefallen die Stellenweise sehr moshigen Gitarren... Mehr davon!

ANNIHILATION TIME - Bad Reputation 7" (Dead Alive) 3.50 €
"Bad Reputation" is Annihilation Time's first release with new singer Jimmy Rose and finds the band veering off slightly from their Black Flag by way of Bl'ast! sound on their debut 12" with three new tracks and a Thin Lizzy cover. With the chaotic guitars and punk rock know-how of Black Flag still intact they've built upon that sound with the competent influence of '70's rock pioneers Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Vocally, they've traded in the visceral shouting of their previous singer for pure chaos and snot filled nihilism quite similar to the Germs' Darby Crash." (?)

ANOTHER BREATH - Not Now, Not Ever LP (Assault Records) 6.50 €
"Hailing from Fulton, NY, ANOTHER BREATH play honest, sincere and intelligent hardcore with intelligent lyrics. Great riffs, powerful chorus parts and a keen sense of melody are the ingredients for their songs which are filled with raw energy and passion. They're probably the best band that you've never heard of. Their unique blend of fast, yet melodic hardcore has a definite rock influence to it, at times reminding me of The Disaster and maybe even a little Kid Dynamite, without being derivative. Golf Club was recorded and mixed with fabulous Prague`s sound man Ondrej Jezek, known from his previous cooperation-works with Kip Beelman (UNWOUND, BUILT TO SPILL, SLEATER KINNEY) as well as Jonathan Burnside (MELVINS, HELIOS CREED, CONSOLIDATED). So, die dritte Lp von dem Sänger von Leiha. Nett und süss wie die anderen, aber ausgereifter. Sehr schöne Mucke. Sanft wie ein Lämmlein. Find ich coolio. (b)

ARMA ANGELUS - The Grave and the Shovel CD (Let it Burn Records) 2.50 €
Metal a la DISEMBODIED aus Chicago. Schwerfällig mit dopem B-Low Gitarrensound. Macht quasi da weiter, wo EXTINCTION und RACETRAITOR aufgehört ham (sind Leute aus den beiden Bands). (b)

ARROGANTA AGITATORER - Arrogans 7" (Busted Head) 3.- €
Ne recht alte band aus Schweden- besser gesacht iss der kram hier 20 Jahre alt. Das Original kam 83 als 10 Song Ep in ner Miniauflage von 500 Stück raus. Als Bonus gibt’s noch nen unveröffentlichten Song. Mucke - HardcorePunk - erinnert etwas an finnische Bands von alten Propaganda Samplern - die bands zähö ich jetzt aber nicht auf, weil ihr die entweder nicht kennt oder beim namen Propaganda schon wisst, was Sache iss. Also - derb und rotziger 80ger Jahre Hardcore Geschrammel. (b)

ARSEN AKA KÖNIG DER MONSTER - Black Sunday 7" (React with Protest) 1.50 €
Neue Band mit Leuten von von u.a. HOUSES IN TEXAS und dem Sänger von ANGSTZUSTAND am Bass. Musikalisch geht's Richtung URANUS. Aufgenommen wurde von Nicolai (ENFOLD, THE NOW DENIAL) also bratzelt das. Aufmachung iss cool - find ich. (b).

ARSEN AKA KÖNIG DER MONSTER - No Gods... only Monsters LP (Narshardaa Records/Unsociable) 7.- €
Nach ner 7", jetzt die erste LP. Wer auf URANUS, ACRID und HIS HERO IS GONE, DRIFT und Düsterness kann, der wird hier sicher nicht enttäuscht werden. Mir gibt’s nix, aber bei viele scheint es ganz schön den Hormonhaushalt durcheinander zu wirbel. (b)

A.P: sind hier irgendwie viel gemütlicher als auf den anderen sachen, ruhiger und "bedächtiger" im sound. D: 1000 mal geiler als die 7" auf yellow dog, super geiler Schweden HC schwer und schnell. super ! (r)

Hammer. 4 Songs von dieser leider mittlerweile wieder aufgelösten Band aus Kopenhagen. Mix aus Kopenhagen Hardcore und BLACK FLAG. Killt. (b)

ASSASSINATE - Lightning Strikes 7" (Whispers in the Darkness / distributed by Hardcore Holocaust) 3.- €
Driving Hardcore detonation, Portland Style! They're taking from the DISCHARGE mold with fists-in-the-air momentum and adding wailing hooks to an overall deep and bass-driven sound. All of which are accompanied by hoarse throated shouts proclaiming the dismal future of mankind. (?)

ASSAULT - Martyrdom 7" (Partners in Crime) 3.- €
Restock dieser geilen Japan Band aus dem Label von DEATHREAT/TRAGEDY Sänger Billy. Hardcore aus Japan, der sich anhört wie Hardcore aus Japan sich nun mal anzuhören hat hehe - thrashig, roh und in die Fresse. Besser als der lahme Kack von FORWARD oder PAINTBOX, nicht so Hyperthrash beeinflusst wie EXCLAIM oder JELLYROLL ROCK HEADS. Cool. (b)

H.A.M.M.E.R.-Platte! Ich habe die damals kennen gelernt weil es Freunde von From Ashes Rise sind und dachte natürlich die Musik is ähnlich, stimmte aber nicht es is geiler (anders). BAY AREA TRASH in Perfektion. Doublebass und asoziale Riffs, 2 bis 3 Gesänge und einfach nur in die Fresse. Super Cheff, verpasst sie nicht auf Tour, sind wohl laut dem W.H.N./ARTIMUS PYLE -Basser die beste US-Liveband zur Zeit. (r)

ASSFORT iss ne Band von der ich alle 5 7"es hab und den Bootleg von der ersten mcd als 7" - ich mein - wer braucht 6 verschiedene 7"es von ner Japcore band? Plus die erste Lp. Frag mich nicht warum, es klingt alles gleich, aber - auch SAUGEIL. Der Kram hier iss von 95 als sie noch richtig gut abgegangen sind, ihre letzte Lp war irgendwie Dreck, aber hier wird geiler schneller rotziger Japcore der alten Schule geboten. In die Fresse oder wohin du es brauchst. (b)

"This is some pretty amazing stuff- there's a use of melody that doesn't slow it down, but gives the songs some hooks that sheer speed often misses" - M.R.R. "Killer, killer stuff that should not bepassed up by anyone..." - MAG Und ich mein: Die Mörderdisc von vor zwei Jahren. ALLERGIC TO WHORES ham nen beschissenen Namen, aber umgekehr proportional geil dazu iss ihre Mucke. Ein Spitzenmix aus TALK IS POISON und upspeed MISFITS. Eigentlich gehen mir MISFITS bis auf 3,4 Songs ziemlich auffen Sack, aber in der Umsetzung des Styles isses geil. Texte kann man zwar schwer lesen, aber sind eher persönlicher Natur, es wird nicht rumgeprollt - spitze. (b)

ATW - The Lipstick Murders CD (Sound Pollution) 6.- €
Auf ihrere zweiten CD fahren ALLERGIC TO WHORES mehr die MISFITS schiene, TALK IS POISON iss etwas in den Hintergrund getreten, aber das Teil iss nach wie vor Harcore punk up yours. Neben den 17 eigenen Tracks gibt’s noch ne 17 + minütige Liveshow (kein Video), recht derber Sound, der vermuten lässt das die Band auch live ziemlich bläst. Texte sind emo depri galore, keine Proll/Provokacke. (b)

AUSGEBOMBT - Hellbomber LP (Hardcore Holocaust) 6.- €
Mein D-Beat style hehe. Klingt nicht wie SODOM haha. "Portland raw punk bastards playing 100% metallic hardcore punk! This is a distortion saturated, Scandinavian inspired, dis-assault featuring members from BLOOD SPIT NIGHTS and HELLSHOCK. Essential RAW brutality!!! 7 tracks including a BROKEN BONES cover. For an older line up reference: these are the Religious War guitarists, Defiance vocalist and Axiom drummer. The LP version comes with a vinyl sticker, patch, 2 sided insert and MASSIVE oversized 24"x36" fold out poster, all packed in a punk-as-fuck b/w slick cardstock jacket." (?)

AUTHORITY ABUSE / KAKISTOCRACY - split 7" (DIY) 1.- €
AA ham mir auf ihrer eigenen 7" auf Lengua Armada Discos ja auf Anhieb super gefallen, hier klingen iss wie ne Mischung aus altem NYHC (was den Gesang angeht) und weiss nicht... schnellem US Hardcore. KAKISTOCRACY sind eher schnelle ECONOCHRIST mit Crustfaktor, die RESIST covern. (b)

AUTORITÄR / COMA - split 7" (Yellow Dog) 2.50 €
Die Yellow Dog Hausband klingt bei diesen Songs bislang am besten wie ich finde. Zudem bringen sie mit "Misery" ein BASTARD cover annen Start. 1A skandibeeinflusster Hardcore-Punk aus Bärlin. COMA sind aus Schweden, eventuell von der BORN DEAD ICONS split 7" bekannt. Schwedehardcore der alten Schule mit modernem Sound. Freshhhhhhhhh. Bombastisch elefantastisch. (b)

Ein Boot von frühen Sachen, die so um 77 und 78 aufgenommen, aber 83 das erste mal veröffentlicht wurden. Spitzen LA Punk mit femals vokals. Geil (b)
